The Conversation
The film begins with a guided conversation centered around you. During this conversation we explore your story, background, interests, and the experiences that have shaped your path. There are no scripts or rehearsed answers. The goal is simply to create space for an honest and thoughtful conversation. Before the conversation begins, time is taken to set up lighting, cameras, and audio to create a calm and comfortable environment for filming. You do not need to prepare anything or say anything perfectly. The most meaningful moments often come from speaking naturally and sharing what matters most to you and the work or life you’ve built.
Filming The Story
After the conversation, we capture visual moments that help bring the story to life. This may include filming in meaningful environments, documenting your work, or capturing an activity that reflects your interests, routines, or daily life. These moments provide visual context for the story and help create a richer portrait of who you are and what you do. Depending on the subject, this session may take several hours or extend across most of the day. The goal is to observe and capture moments naturally so the film feels authentic and grounded in real experiences.
Shaping The Film
After filming, the story truly begins to take shape in the edit. During this stage, the filmed conversation and visual moments are carefully woven together to create a cohesive narrative. Through story development, structural editing, color grading, sound design, and music selection, the film is shaped with careful attention to tone, pacing, and meaning. Every decision in the edit is made intentionally to ensure the final film feels honest, cinematic, and thoughtfully constructed. Once complete, the finished documentary is delivered privately. Typically within a few weeks after filming.
